The Dutch music show Countdown was a popular music show from 1978 to the early '90s, broadcast by the (in that time public) broadcasting system Veronica. It ranked as the top music show in the whole of Europe. A special English-language edition of Countdown was produced for pan-European music channel Music Box in 1987.(info from Wikipedia)
